British Championships 2010
In the Men's Epee, Edward Beaumont was 12th, Phil Barbasiewicz 23rd, Al Barbasiewicz 26th, Steven Bateman 65th, David Hillier 83rd and Harry Gulliver 110th. Full results are here
In the Ladies' Epee, Verity Howell was 64th. Full results here In the Team events, Reading A were 3rd, Reading B were 20th and Reading Ladies were 9th.

The Reading Fencing Club Competition -July-
The final placings for the 2009/10 Reading Fencing club are in. July's winner was Andy Catton, and but the over all winners of the Trophies were Steven Bateman for the Kevin Griffith cup, and Alex Paige for the Chris Reading Cup.

In the Team events, the men came a very respectable 5th place in a strong field, but the ladies put in a stunning performance to take the Silver!

The Reading Fencing Club Competition, Final round -July-
And there we have it Ladies and Gentleman, the conclusion to another highly contested Reading Fencing Club Competition Season, which sees a final grab of a top 5 position for Philippe, and last gasp claim of a round prize by Gavin Lyon! Full and Final results are here. The top five now look like this:
1st - Steve Bateman
2nd - Dave Hillier
3rd - Nick Marks
4th - Philippe Barbasiewicz
5th - Alex Paige.

This means that the Chris Reading Cup goes to Alex Paige as the highest ranked Junior, and the over-all competition is won by Steven Bateman who gets the Kevin Griffith Cup. Well done to all who took part this year, and everyone who has won a prize will be presented with them sometime in the new Season. With an eye to the next season, we are looking at ways of making the handicap system even fairer which could make things even more interesting next year - watch this space!
