Reading Fencing clubs is always active with competitions against ourseleves and other clubs in the region.

Well done to Charlotte Williams who won the U18 girls Southern region championships and Emily Williams who came second in the U16 girls event. Also competing were Gregor McLeod (7th U14 boys), Oskar Strugar (10th U14 boys) , James Radford (8th U16 boys), Alex Gladden (14th U16 boys), Matthew Boyer (16th U16 Boys), Lewis Jackson (21st, U16 Boys) and Noam Rosenbaum (7th U18 boys). Well done to our fencers (Russell, Jeff and Noam) whom won a convincing victory against the visitors from Swindon, 45-18 yesterday.
We have just been advised by the organisers of this competition that the venue has been changed to - Play Football Swindon Indoor, Unit 29, Bramble Road, Kembrey Park, Swindon, SN2 8HB. The provisional latest check-in times of the epee events are as follows but please check on the SR website for confirmation on Friday we are told: U12 boys & girls 0900 (R1 starts 0915) U14 boys & girls 0900 (R1 starts 0915) U16 boys 0900 (R1 starts 0915) U16 girls 0930 (R1 starts 1000) U18 boys 0900 (R1 starts 0915) U18 girls 0930 (R1 starts 1000). If anyone is available to help referee, please contact Southern Fencing (expenses will be paid).
In addition to senior teams fencing at the match being hosted by Egham, we are also looking to have some junior team matches being held. These will most likely start a little earlier, time TBC but likely from 6pm onwards. If you are interested, please either email the club or speak to Phil.
The home match with Swindon is being moved back a week to Wednesday 15th March, at the request of SFC.
