Reading Fencing clubs is always active with competitions against ourseleves and other clubs in the region.
We have new kit available for sale thanks to Alex Pataca and Ingrid Heskett for all their hard work. Here are the designs including price and sizing details.
We will be placing a group order on Friday 22 November, with the intention that the items will arrive in time for Christmas. If you would like to place an order, please email the club directly and you can either pay online, in cash, or cheque (payable to ‘Reading Fencing Club’).
The RFC 2013 Christmas Dinner will be held at 7:15pm on Monday 16th December at Bill’s in Reading. All members are welcome to come and join in the fun! If you would like to come, then you will need to confirm your attendance by Wednesday 4th December at the latest by emailing your menu choices to Verity and paying a £5 cash deposit to Verity or a bank transfer to RFC.
Please note there will be no fencing on this date as we will all be at Bills!
Well done to all who fenced in our return fixture against RMAS, the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. Those who took part were Philippe B, Dave Hillier, Verity, Jeff R, Sam Hughes, Wilson Ku, David Newcomb, Gareth Williams, and Alain B. We won 6 of 9 matches overall, with a good time had by everyone.
It was a busy weekend for fencing competitions. Congratulations to Verity who came second at the Sussex Open with Andy Gates 5th, Dave Hillier 10th and Felix Stansfield 45th (in his first senior open). At the Bedford Open Malcolm Alton came 3rd, Dave Hillier and Verity Howell 5th, Sylvia Brown 11th. In the Leon Paul womens open epee Rebecca Mayle came 20th.

The next Regional Development Days will be held on Sunday 6 October and 3 November at St Gabriel’s School, Newbury.
